WNPL 15s are in the Preliminary Finals
WNPL U15 girls played against the tough Woden Weston football club in the first round of the finals series. Our girls played a tight first half with Sofia Furlanetto scoring the first goal. The lease was short lived with Woden Weston equalising a short time after.
Monaro came out strong in the second half to have Cynthia Bangita score our second goal.
The last 15 minutes of the match saw the opposition receive a penalty shot with a chance of levelling the score, however great work from the Panthers goalkeeper Jelena Josipovic saved the day.
Special recognition goes to our Centre Midfield Mackenzie Alcock who was Player of the Match.
Score at full time was 2 - 1 to Monaro
Next week the girls play Belconnen United FC at Phillip Enclosed Oval at 12 noon.
Thanks to all the supporters who turned out to watch the girls play. Good luck next week.
Monaro Panthers FC is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Director of Women's Football. This is a full-time football position.
The Director of Women’s Football will be tasked with the recruitment and retention of players, provide mentoring and guidance to our coaches and driving the WPL environment across the year. The Women’s Director will support women’s football across the club in all ages as well as support junior football development.
In order to ensure this is a sustainable full-time position, the WPL Director will also work with the full-time Technical Director and part-time Business Manager as a member of staff. All staff have roles within the business arm of the club. The exact nature that this will take will depend upon the skill set that the candidate brings. Skills that can help grow the club in a broad sense are desirable whether they be in administration, business management, teaching degrees or other.
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of the FFA B Licence and experience in coaching at the senior level. Ideal start date is late September but the club will negotiate with right candidate as needed. EOI’s close by Sunday 27th August.
If you would like to express your interest in the role, please fill out the online form - https://goo.gl/forms/mkQ3YBO6Ljc5YMWw2
