Coach Biography

Angelo Maralit

Angelo Maralit has been coaching women’s football since 2010 when we began at the University of Canberra Pumas Women’s State League 1 side. He has worked his way up the ranks with moves to Gungahlin State League 1 in 2011, finishing the season second place and winning the Grand Final. The following year he took over the Gungahlin Women’s Premier League Reserves. Following that season he took charge of Monaro Panthers Women’s Premier League in their first ever season in the competition and lead the 1st Grade team to win the Federation Cup and finishing second place in the league and runner up in the Grand Final. Following his success with his first stint at Monaro he took the role of the U14 Girls at Capital Football (Emerging United) taking them to play in the U14 Boys Division 1 competition. That team took out the Kanga Cup and Champions Youth Cup in Gold Coast with 3 players gaining training agreements to ACTAS (U17 girls) the following year.

Between 2010 to 2014, Angelo worked at Capital Football as the Junior League Manager then moved into the Development Coordinator, in charge of coordinating the high-performance programs and state team programs.

Angelo then took the move to Sydney in 2015 to further his coaching experience and joined Manly United as the U15’s Boys coach while also taking on an U11 Girls team at West Pymble, winning the U11 Girls Gala Day at the end of the season. In 2016, North Shore Mariners FC appointed him the Head of Girls SAP (Skill Acquisition Phase) Program to look after the U10-U12 Girls sides as well as coaching the very successful U12 Girls squad who took out the Proctor Park Challenge, Kanga Cup (defeating Canberra United Academy in the final) and the Football NSW State Cup. His U12’s side were also undefeated in all of their Girls SAP matches and gala days. During his time with the Mariners, Angelo designed all the training sessions to be used with the Boys and Girls SAP programs at North Shore Mariners and Central Coast Mariners.

Angelo has also coached state level as the Head Coach of ACT Futsal teams in U16’s and U14’s Girls and the NSW U12 Girls side as well as the U14 Boys Metro North and U14 Girls Metro West at the FNSW State Titles. During his time working at Capital Football and Football NSW, he administered and attended over 6 C Licence and 3 B Licence courses, cementing his knowledge further from different course presenters and high quality coaches in attendance.

He moved back to Monaro Panthers at the end of 2016 to take on the role of Director of Women’s Football, Head Coach of the Women’s Premier League and Chief Operations Officer, with a view to implement best practices at training to deliver a quality program for female players. With Angelo, we believe that we will be able to raise the standards of coaching and organisation for the women’s football in the region.

Learning from top coaches such as Royston Thomas (former Capital Football TD, moved to work at Swansea City FC), Marcial Munoz (Gungahlin United Men’s Head Coach), Warren Grieve (former Capital Football TD, current FFA Advanced Coach Educator, now Manly United TD), Alex Tobin (Football NSW TD and former Socceroos captain) and Craig Midgley (former Manly United TD and current TD at FNQ Heat FC and FFA Advanced Coach Educator) among others. Angelo, a holder of the FFA B Licence, will implement what he has learned, to benefit our players and region in what is a huge step for the club. Angelo is a full-time employee of Monaro Panthers FC, a benchmark for women’s football in our region.
